New Do

alchemy hair salon

Since it's officially the start of Autumn I got bangs. I go to Alchemy Hair Salon and get it cut and colored by Bailey and she's pretty much amazing!  What do you think?

Sunday Bunch

After me and Kathleen's work out on Sunday mornings we run over to Ethos for some brunch. Ethos is one of my favorite places to eat in Orlando. Not only is it SO delicious but the atmosphere is incredibly cool. We always sit out on the patio because its so beautiful out there and they have a DJ every Sunday. Also, its right next to the train track which I think adds a nice random touch to the uniqueness of the restaurant. The two pictures on the left are of the patio that we had all to our selves. The two on the right are of my food :) I had the fruit and yogurt platter with a side of home fries. There was so much food I had it again the next day for lunch YUM! The bottom picture I sneakily took of the DJ while he wasn't paying attention.

A walk in the park

Orlando Farmers Market

Every Sunday me and my friend Kathleen get a lovely workout in at Lake Eola. We walk the lake a few times but on our first lap we always stop at the Farmers Market that's held in the park. The market is quite large and filled with food, plants, art and a massage tent. Since there is so much going on I always want to take pictures. Well last Sunday I finally did and here are some of the best photos from my iPhone. I especially love the hot sauce tent because the skeletons get me in the Halloween spirit!

Fall Trends: Nails

Hello Ladies!

First of all I have to say that Fall officially starts in a matter of days and I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself! I love everything about Fall. It starts to cool down outside and it's my favorite season for fashion!

I was pretty intrigued when I found out about this seasons new nail trend the "crackle" effect. When I went to Target to pick up this crackle polish I came across the four new Fall colors from essie... I had to get one too, right? Right!

This is my first coat with just the essie "Carry On" deep burgundy. This is a beautiful color and can be worn on its own. Currently its the polish I have on my toes.

Next I applied the crackle polish. I'm using Salley Hansen crackle silver overcoat. After playing with this polish a few times I've found that the crackle effect works much better if you apply one thick coat covering your entire nail. Then while it dries it will do the crackling effect on its own. If I apply a thin layer in a few strokes it doesn't behave like I want. Oh! One other thing... When I bought this I figured the crackle would be the secondary color but that's not the case. Whatever you apply as your first color will only be the accent or secondary color so make sure you invest in a crackle polish color that you will wear more often.

This is a picture of me failing to show all my nail polish. Hahaha

Let's try only two polishes this time... There, that works much better! The other two polishes were just my top (sally hansen) and base (O.P.I.) coats.

My two colors. 1) essie new fall color call carry on. 2) Sally Hansen's silver Crackle overcoat

Does this crap really work?: Columbian Avocado Hair Mask

I always see all these DIY home beauty tips. I usually save them and think that I'll give them a shot at some point. However, I never tend to do them because later I always think "does this crap really work?" Well enough is enough! Today I am giving them a try. The first one on my list is the Columbian Avocado Hair Mask. Why this one first you ask? Well, because I had all of the ingredients already ;)

***Make sure that if you have a food allergy to any of these products DO NOT make this hair mask!!! If you're allergic to digesting these foods then most likely you'll be allergic to them topically too.***

All you need is two egg whites and a half of an avocado.

I used a food processor because it makes it easier to mix but you can do it by hand! First, I added the half an avocado into the food processor.

Next, I added the two egg whites. From the above picture you can see that using the egg shells I rocked the yolk back and forth allowing the egg white to drop into the food processor while separating the yolk. Do that with both eggs and discard the yolk. Make sure to wash your hands after this step! Even though you'll be putting raw egg on your head you don't want to be touching other things
 with it on your hands!

Mix it! My first thought was "this looks like baby food." So once you get the same effect you'll know that it's finished mixing.

Make sure you're wearing clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Trust me, this stuff is slimy!

It feels a bit weird at first. I started on my hair part and worked it into my scalp.

Once I covered my entire scalp it made it much easier to work it down to the tips of my hair.

Now you're head is completely covered in the Avocado Hair Mask! Let it sit for 15 minutes.

After the 15 minutes are up wash and condition your hair.

The Results: After my shower I let my hair air dry over night and I didn't add any products. I wanted to make sure I knew the exact results of the Avocado Hair Mask. When I woke I brushed out my hair and didn't see a big difference or any additional shine. I was a bit disappointed that my first try wasn't going to be a success. HOWEVER, as the day goes on I'm falling in love with it. I keep catching myself playing with my hair. From the Avocado Hair Mask it gives you just what you want from your hair, the three S's: silky, soft and smooth. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. I would say this is a more hair "pick me up." This is a fast, organic and cheap hair treatment that will leave your hair ultra-smooth!

Catching Up on August Activities: Music Festival and Universal Studios Live Show

all shall perish, whale of a time

In the middle of August Christopher and I went to the Rockstar Mayhem Music Festival in Tampa, FL. Most of the bands that were playing were pretty lame. However, one of our favorite bands All Shall Perish were playing so we had to take the opportunity to see them. Not only did they play an amazing show but we got to meet them!!! They were so friendly and nice it really re-affirmed me being a fan of theirs. After they signed some of our stuff I got to snap the above photo with them.

Two weeks ago my friend Duff had his sister in town for the week. They bought passes to the Universal Studios Island of Adventure theme park for the day. Since I have season passes they invited me to come along! We were there all day and our feet were killing us. We saw there was a show happening called the Mat Hoffman's Aggro Circus so we figured we would take a break from all the walking and check it out. Little did we know that is was an extreme sports show and it was their last one for the year! Wow, we lucked out. These people have large cojones to do these stunts. Here is a short clip that I took!

Memorial Weekend

hipstamatic, whale of a time

TtV Basics, whale of a time

I hope everyone is ready for a three day weekend. I know I am. I haven't been getting a good nights rest in weeks so I'm ready to relax and spend time with my friends for three days. Above are some photos from one of my sleepless nights at about 1:00 am. Can you tell I'm bored out of my mind? Chris went to bed much earlier so I stayed up and played with my iPhone cameras. I think I like the top lense the best which is the Hipstamatic. The bottom picture is with the TtV Basic.

I have plenty of stuff to blog about but I haven't uploaded my photos yet. Chris flew back to Texas a few hours ago to spend the holiday with his family, which means I will have plenty of free time to blog! Stay tuned.
