This past week

whale of a time
So I haven't posted anything for a bit now because all the activities we've been doing haven't been camera friendly! We've knocked out two seasons of the show Misfits which just might be my new favorite show. Also, Christopher and I have been having the time of our lives at Universal Studios. We've gone twice this week including yesterday with a group of friends.

Christopher had a nice low-key birthday weekend. I took him to BB kings restaurant for some soul food and live Blues music. The band was fantastic and the food was oh so good. I got the chicken fried chicken even though I try not to eat meat anymore. Oh! We got fried pickles as an appetizer and they were strange. I haven't been able to find a normal fried pickle in Florida... I mean they serve it with horseradish...! Moving on, after dinner we hopped on over to Universal Studios for some night time roller coasters. I think he really enjoyed himself.

Tomorrow I go to South Beach Miami, FL for a much needed vacation with my friend Susie. I can't wait for a girls trip to relax in the sun. So far the plan is to go to the beach everyday we can, eat tons of yummy Cuban food and check out the night life. I've only been to South Beach once so I'm excited and a little nervous at the same time. I've never just gone on a random trip before, but hey, I randomly moved to Florida so I guess I'm not jumping too far out of my comfort zone.

Getting an Oil Change

Herbal Cleans, Whale of a Time

At the end of July I'm going with my friend Susie to South Beach Miami for five days and I'm SO excited. Because everyone in Miami have rock solid bodies I want to make sure I'm getting ready to be in a bikini for five days. I started this HerbalCleans from GNC which is a week long full body cleans. So far so good. It's all natural so that's always a plus but I was told that I might get stomach pains and break out because it's getting rid of everything. Anyway, you have to eat pretty healthy because it defeats the purpose of the cleans if you don't. This week I've been waking up extra early to get started on it. It's been so nice having a long morning that I think I might keep it up after this detox is done!

Tex-Mex Lovin and Weekend Updates

Abuelos, Whale of a Time
Abuelos, Whale of a Time
Since we moved to Orlando I've been dying for some good Tex-Mex. Living in Austin there is a Tex-Mex restaurant on every conner! Here you have to search all over for them and they are never up to par, it's pretty depressing. Especially because of my love fore cheese. However, last weekend on Saturday I found that there was an Abuelos in the neighboring town. I was so excited so Christopher and I had a spontaneous date night. It was fantastic. We got these massive drinks that needed their own photo-op. I couldn't finish mine but Christopher's was so girlie Bwhahaha! To be honest the food there wasn't that great, except for the queso but I think good Tex-Mex is hard to find in other states. Texans are so prideful and I love it haha! I think I need to start exploring Cuban food. I'm in the right place for it!

Over the weekend I met up with my friends Kathleen and Chris Marquis. Kathleen and I had sold a painting at an art show at Ethos recently so it was the perfect time to meet up and celebrate. The three of us decided to go bowling at the Three Points Bowling Alley and oh did we have a good time. We ended up staying until the place closed for the night and they had to kick us out!

On Thursday Christopher and I went on a date. We first went to Park Ave Cds to shop for records and it was so much fun! They have new and current music in vinyl, cds and dvds. I recommend checking it out! Then we drove in a rain storm over to Mellow Mushroom for pizza and beer. It was a great week night date.

The ducks that live in the pond at our apartment complex have had babies! These little ducklings melt my heart everything I see them. It's just an extra thing I can look forward to everyday.
